Think Clever

A Letter Before Action is part of the established requirements to instigate a money claim in the Court system in England and Wales.

It can also be sent as a stand-alone gesture in order to inform and persuade your debtor to settle the debt, before you decide whether the next step via the Courts is necessary, or indeed worth pursuing at all.   An LBA can be sent by the claimant themselves, or their solicitor / legal representative.

Many D-I-Y versions can also be found on the internet for free.

What you have to consider:

Is your debtor likely to take any notice of a "home made" LBA ?

-or-

Is your debtor more likely to take notice of an LBA sent by a CERTIFICATED BAILIFF?
